BARTKOWKSI, Mary (DelMonte)

Mary Bartkowski (DelMonte), 92, of Concord, Mass., passed away, Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at Emerson Hospital following a brief illness. Mary, a first-generation American, was the daughter of Antoinette Cioto and Louis DelMonte of Italy. She survived all of her siblings, Bernadine DelMonte, Phyllis and James Covey of Rocky Hill, Frank and Sandy DelMonte of Cromwell and Louis and Nellie DelMonte of Middletown. She was a resident of Hartford, for 30 years before moving to Terryville. Mary was married to the late Benjamin Bartkowski for 30 years and resided on Riverside Avenue for 52 years. She was a member of St. Casimir Church, an active senior citizen and was employed by the Plymouth school lunch program. Mary spent her last seven years in Massachusetts, residing at Traditions of Wayland and The Gardens at Newbury Common in Concord. Mary leaves behind two children, Kathleen B. Greenberg and husband David of Maynard, Mass. and William J. Bartkowski of Lebanon, N.J.; four grandchildren, Jesse, Benjamin and Sacha Greenberg of Massachuetts and Alexandra Bartkowski of New Jersey. Beloved nieces and nephews include James and Betty Covey of New Hampshire, Loretta and Frank Ramsey, Mary and Tom Ryan, Annette Del Monte, Elaine Buyanoski, the Shea Family, Cynthia and Charles Higgins and the Hintz family, all of Connecticut, and Sharon and Ray Shields of Vermont. Mary loved her 14 grand-nieces and nephews. Please join us for a celebration of Mary’s life at Scott Funeral Home in Terryville, Monday, Nov. 17. Calling hours are from 9 to 11 a.m., Mass is at St. Casimir Church, 11 a.m. to noon and burial is iat St. Mary’s Cemetery. There will be a 1 p.m. reception at the Terryville Lyceum.
