WHITTON, Irene Louise

Irene Louise Whitton, 82, formerly of Hartford and Bristol, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at the Farmington Care Center. Irene was born Nov. 10, 1926, in Casper, Wyo, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Ida (Preis) Roehrkasse. Mrs. Whitton retired in 1989 from The Hartford, was a member of New Life Fellowship in Plainville and was active in Parents Without Partners. She is survived by her three sons and two daughters-in-law, Stephen Whitton of Bristol, Douglass and Lynn Whitton of Hamden and Timothy and Linda Whitton of Bristol; her brother, Glenn Roehrkasse of Laramie, Wyo.; her sister, Laura May Brunkow of Cody, Wyo.; her seven grandchildren, Chase, Jared, Adam, David, Douglass Jr., Angela and Heather; her aunt, Geneva Preis; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Leonard. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at the Farmington Care Center for the loving care they gave to Irene. Funeral services will be held at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville, Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Peacedale Cemetery, Bristol.
