MAKARA, Lloyd Dennis

Lloyd Dennis Makara, 54, of Bristol died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, at his home, surrounded by his family. Lloyd was born Aug. 25, 1954, in Bristol. He was the son of Helen (Buczek) Makara of Terryville and the late Richard Elsworth Makara. Lloyd was raised in Terryville and graduated from Terryville High School. Before his illness he was a carpenter for Sequin Builders of Bristol and also a jack of all trades. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Bristol, an avid car collector and loved motorcycles. Besides his mother, he leaves his daughter, Julie Morgan Makara of Lake Forest, Ill.; his son, Michael Lloyd Makara of Bristol; his brother, Thomas Makara and his wife, Cynthia, of Bristol; his nieces and nephews, Dawn Switser, Richard Makara III, Heather Makara and Justin Makara; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Lloyd was predeceased by a brother, Richard Elsworth Makara Jr. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, at 9:30 a.m. from Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville, to St. Casimir Church, Terryville, for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made the Hospice of Bristol Hospital, 7 N. Washington St., Plainville, CT 06062.
