WARKOSKI, Joseph B.

Joseph B. Warkoski, 79, of Bristol, loving husband of Joan (Frechette) Warkoski, died Tuesday November 18, 2008 at Plainville Health Care. Joseph was born in Bristol on June 3, 1929 and was a son of the late Benjamin and Catherine (Hucko) Warkoski. He was a Bristol resident all his life, was employed at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft, Southington for 35 years before retiring in 1987 and served as a Supernumerary Police officer for the city of Bristol in the early 1950’s. He was a U.S. veteran of World War II serving during the occupation of Japan. He was a member of St. Gregory Church, Bristol, and enjoyed his beloved grandchildren, vacations in Bermuda, and building doll houses. In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, David and Doreen Warkoski of Wolcott, Gregory and Diane Warkoski of Cumming, GA, and Jeffrey Warkoski of Parker, CO; a daughter, Kimberly Hazelton of Bristol; two sisters, Florence D’Aprile of Largo, FL and Dolores and John Black of Farmington; eight grandchildren, Jewol, Austin, Samantha, Joseph, Megan, and Matthew Warkoski and Christopher and Brandon Hazelton; two great granddaughters, Tatiana and Amalia Warkoski; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 21, 2008, 10 A.M. from Funk Funeral Home 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol to St. Gregory Church, Bristol for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7 P.M.
