LaMOTHE, German "Jimmy" F.


Germain “Jimmy” F. Lamothe, 92, of Bristol, husband of the late Lorraine (Roy) Lamothe, died Sunday, December 7, 2008 at the Bristol Hospital. Germain was born in St. Guillaume, P.Q., Canada on August 9, 1916 and was a son of the late Wilfred and Marie Louise (Mansau) Lamothe. He resided in Bristol most of his life and was employed at New Departure-Hyatt Division of General Motors for 40 years before retiring in 1974. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II, a member of St. Ann Church, Bristol, Le Club Franco American de Bristol, and the Franco American War Veterans Post #2. Germain is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, John Lamothe of Pittsfield, MA, James and Laurie Lamothe of Kentwood, MI, and Thomas Lamothe of Camino Island, WA; three daughters and a son-in-law, Susan and Larry Fitzmorris of Portsmouth, RI, Jeanne Dosch of Anchorage, AK, and Marie Lamothe of Bristol; a sister, Gertrude Cote of New Britain; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2008, 9 A.M. from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Avenue, Bristol, to St. Ann Church, Bristol for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 8 P.M.
