TAILLON, Robert E.

Robert E. Taillon, 63, of Plymouth, formerly of Bristol and Pequabuck, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Waterbury Hospital. Robert was born in Bristol March 23, 1945, and was a son of the late Xavier and Rose Alma (Brousseau) Taillon. He was raised in Bristol and formerly lived in Pequabuck and Plainville. He was a retired automotive technician and former owner of Taillon’s Getty and Taillon’s Automotive. He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of the Bristol Elks Lodge No. 1010. He leaves four daughters, Ann Marie Taillon of Dayton, Ohio, Lillian Stone of Pequabuck, Deborah J. Taillon of Pensacola, Fla., and Becky Taillon of Bend, Ore.; four grandchildren, Ashley Taillon, Cameron Dick and William and Samantha Stone; his fiancée, Gretchen Mushorn; four brothers, Marc and Daniel Taillon of Bristol, Ronald Taillon of Half Moon Bay, Calif., and Maurice Taillon of Plainville; six sisters, Alice Testa of Forestville, Elaine Lipton of Bristol, Agnes Fisher of Burlington, Bernadette Polidoro of Terryville, Rosemarie Unwin of Southington and Celeste St. Denis of Fredericksburg, Va.; his former wife, Geraldine Taillon of Dayton, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his beloved dog, Kojak. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, Friday, Dec. 19, 2008, between 5 and 8 p.m. A memorial service and military honors burial will be held Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Holy Family Mausoleum at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
