ZACK, Stanley W. Sr.

Stanley W. Zack Sr., 94, of Plainville, widower of the late Jean (Bracha) Zack, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, at Bristol Hospital. He was born March 14, 1914, in New Britain, a son of the late John and Mary (Andrzejczyk) Zach and had lived in Plainville since 1946. He retired as a foreman from the Brown Mfg. Co. in Plainville. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville and active in the church choir. Stan was involved with the Plainville Democratic Party for several years. He was a member of the Plainville Senior Center and loved boating and fishing and was an avid gardener. He leaves two sons and daughters-in-law Stanley and Linda Zack Jr., of Stafford, Va. and Richard and Evelyn Zack of Bristol; a daughter, Geraldine Roberge of Burlington; a sister, Helen Schuckman of West Hartford; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a grandson, Ricky Zack. The funeral will be held Saturday, 9 a.m. from DuPont Funeral Home, 25 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Plainville. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Saturday, one hour before the funeral.
