SCHULTZ, Rita McCarthy "Reet"

Rita McCarthy "Reet" Schultz, 87, of Plainville, formerly of Sarasota, FL, widow of William Schultz, died peacefully at The Hospital of Central Connecticut New Britain General after a short illness. Born in New Britain, August 27, 1921, daughter of the late Charles and Ellen (Concannon) McCarthy she was raised in Plainville by Eleanor and Frank Marinen. She graduated from Plainville High School in 1939. After graduating, she was employed as a secretary at the Marlin Rockville Corporation during the Second World War. After the war, she became the Vice President of the Connecticut Institute of Hairdressing where she worked until her retirement. Rita was the owner and operator of numerous Schultz Beauty Salons in the Greater Hartford area. After retiring, she relocated to Sarasota, FL where she resided for ten years. Upon the death of her husband, William, she returned to Plainville in 1991. She was a member of the Wethersfield Country Club. Rita is survived by her two sisters, Mary Rubino of Hamden and Cora Mazzagatti of Miami, FL and several beloved nieces and nephews. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Patrick, Farmington at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of St. Patrick, 110 Main St., Farmington, CT 06032.
